Have been listening to Winterwood off The Don't give up your day job album by country gazzette and was wondering about Clarences dobro. Did any one ever get to see him play it or know what happened to it , how he set it up etc...

Actually, I borrowed it from him several times for recording sessions. It was a Dobro, round neck, strung much like his electric, with something close to what is now called "Super Slinky", except that the 3rd string would be a 12 or 13, rather than a 16.

I wish I knew what ever happened to it, because I really enjoyed that guitar for recording....

I talked to Rodney Dillard after a show that we were on and he said that he used the guitar on "listen to the sound" off one of the albums , I forgot which( copperfields or Wheatstraw suite)
