This is really great...Chris is giving a hostorical account of his life and what it was like growing up in California music scene in the 50s-60s...Big mention to Clarence, Roland, Kentcuky Colonels, Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs....

Omigawd- that is astounding! Thanks you so much, Brian... I never would have even known this existed without your post. I'm supposed to be working, but once it started I had to bury myself in the whole thing. Chris Hillman has been one of my very favorites for sooooo many years, and he has been in the middle of some of the most important music groups of all time, and I've always felt he was pure class- just in it for the music. I never miss them (Chris and Herb) when they are playing around LA..... hmmmmm, speaking of which, they haven't been around for a while. Anyway, what a treasure you have unearthed for us- Thanks!

Glad I could pass this on... I merely cross-posted what someone else had posted on the Martin forum...

The Desert Rose Band will have 5 reunion concerts this year, including 2 nights at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Va. in August.

Chris and Herb were going to play up here in January. I got a note from the promoter that the concert was cancelled because Chris was having back surgery.

I had great seats too...when Roger McGuinn played up here in 1998 or whenever, I bought what I thought were front row seats...but turned out to be last row seats because the guy at the ticket outlet had the seating chart upsidedown and I didnt know it...so its only been recently that my wife has started to let me pick out seats again...

The note said they would reschedule the show.
