Brian, PLEASE tell me that's a repro faceplate, and a generic chassis; that you didn't cut up a vintage Vibrochamp for this project.
Please.... |

Jim...of course it's a repro faceplate. In fact there never was a Vibro Champ REVERB..... There's a place called Vintone that makes the faceplates any way you want. It's not actually metal. It's a plastic laminate (black on white) and the lettering is actually etched through down from the black to expose the white. It's not as durable as metal..but it should be fine for this project and adds the extra Reverb knob and name in the logo...and notice there's no mini slide switch on the front panel for Power On/Off. I will put a normal toggle switch on the back for that. The chassis is a repro chassis....super heavy duty gauge steel...made by Gomez amps...he was selling them on the TDPRI and ebay... Rest assured no vintage butchering going on...only modern day hacking. LOL |

Thanks Matt...it sounds like a little blackface...but is lacking in low end...needs some help that I'm trying to sort out. I'm thinking a speaker change (that one was borrowed from a cheap Vox I had) and transformer upgrade may help... It looks cool though and the Reverb sounds great. |
