I recently had the pleasure of meeting Rick Clark (brother of the late Gene Clark, co-founder of the Byrds). We spent quite a while talking. He spoke quite a bit about Gene's and Chris Hillman's admiration of Clarence.

I suppose this is not really news, I'm just passing it on.

Rick is a few years younger than Gene, something like 6 or 7. He lives not too far from me in Northern California where we met in a local music store...and yes, a strong family resemblance, they have the same face. He's a really nice guy. I met him only recently, so I haven't had the opportunity to pick his memory. I'm very interested in his recollections and can't wait to speak with him again.

Gene came from a large family and actually had 12 siblings - both brothers & sisters.

Rick is younger than Gene and reportedly recorded his own album after Gene had died which has not seen the light of day
However Rick did contribute his recording of the song 'Del Gato' written by Gene & Rick to the 2 CD set 'Full Circle - A Tribute To Gene Clark' released on the Not Lame label (# NL057) in 2000.

I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to, but Rick did mention that he has recorded and still wants to record more covers of some of Gene's previously unrecorded material. Certainly a worthy undertaking.

I just remember reading on another forum quite a few years ago that Rick had recorded an album and if I remember correctly the song 'Del Gato' may have been among the tracks listed, I don't believe all the song's cut for the album were covers of Gene's songs so if he is hoping to record some of Gene's unrecorded songs that I guess would be a new project
