Not sure what these are really worth...but they seem to be rarer than hen's teeth. You don't see many on Ebay, that's for sure.

notice they have the drop tuners on the E's like marty has, not on the High E and A like Clarence did.
Also..i wonder if they used Schallers, or real Keiths.

I kinda figured they would be, on a custom shop instrument.

How much did this guitar run new? Was it ever in a Fender Frontline catalog?

I got mine used at Elderly back in 01 or 02? but the MSRP originally was $4800 or so...and yes they were in the Fender Frontline and Custom Shop catalog at the time.. I'll post some good pix of it when I get a chance...I've since modded it with a Long Throw mod...and has Clarence-approved Frankfurt and Nudie stickers Cool

here's a bunch of our Benders from an old CWforum jam...mine is on the far right...Mur's is sitting comfortably in the middle Cool

Don...I agree...it is a good price for that instrument that is a) a rare collectable (does it come with it's Certficate of Authenticity from the Custom Shop??) b) in perfect shape and most importantly.. c) a killer Clarence Tele!

I think Don's list price is more correct (3500) cause my Masterbuilt was around 3900.

I'm pretty sure the number that you guys are thinking about was the street price which is usually about 35% off of MSRP. 35% off of $4800 MSRP is $3120 street price...

I don't have the old Custom Shop price list anymore but that's the numbers that I recall. The price for the CW Tele was similar to the Merle Haggard Tele pricing which is still in the Fender Custom Shop catalog but now with a $5900 MSRP price tag (which accounts for some inflation since the CW was discontinued).

Then again...who knows LOL Very Happy

Holy mackerel...Look at this old 2004 TDPRI thread HEE!

You might be right...although I do recall seeing ads for them (used)for as little as $1800-2000 at one point...but those very well could be "need to sell now" prices..or someone who didnt know what exactly they had...or were fencing it for someone...

It seems to me that during their run there were also some hefty price increases..so at the start of the run they could have been $3500 and ended up at $5500

And now its a different story because those things don't show up for sale. Seems that alone would drive the price way up.
