I've looked almost nearly everywhere and I'm wondering....

Do any of you guys/gals know where to find a good copy of the original "Timeless Flight" book that Johnny Rogan wrote? I thought that a fellow band mate of mine had a copy but....he doesn't.

If ya'll could possibly help, I'd appreciate it. Smile

Thanks,
Tony T.

Depends which one you want. The original, credited to John Rogan, came out in 1981 and finding a mint copy would be difficult. Unless you're a serious book collector of first editions, it might be more advisable to simply go to Amazon and get 'Byrds: Requiem For The Timeless Vol. 1' which is 1200 pages long but is in print and sells pretty cheaply in the UK and no doubt on Amazon US too. It has much more stuff, obviously, than 'Timeless Flight'. Of course the real deal will be when he does the full Clarence story in Volume 2, but presently there's no sign of that on the way, certainly not in the first half of 2016 judging from Amazon.

I have the "Requiem For the Timeless: Vol. I" and "The Byrds: Timeless Flight Revisited - The Sequel" so I know that I've probably got the book already - it's just with two books. But, I am a hardcore completist from music to books so....I'm still gonna try and track down a hard cover copy. I did find a paperback copy of it on Amazon but...like I said, I'm a completist and I try to get first issue series' of books if I can afford it.

Thanks for the info. I hope Rogan doesn't wait too long to do Clarence's story. I'd love to read what he has to say.

BTW, I had to email the RRHOF and correct them on their description of how Clarence was killed (they said he stepped out in front of a truck - when, in fact, it was a car) and I alerted them to this mistake. Hopefully, they'll correct it.

It bothers me to think that the greatest guitar player to ever grace this Earth on albums and in live concerts is NOT in the RRHOF. That's just sad!!!

Well done on correcting the Hall of Fame. Yes, it's regrettable to see how underestimated CW remains in the eyes of the wider so-called rock community. I thought there would be some significant media coverage surrounding the 40th anniversary of his death, but almost nothing.
Impressed by your book collection. Just to add that 'Timeless Flight' the cover of which featured the fish eye lens shot from the 'Mr Tambourine Man' album was only ever available in paperback. We're now full circle as both 'Timeless Flight Revisited (long out of print) and 'Requiem For The Timeless Vol 1 only ever came out in hardback. Rogan blocked both paperback editions and disallowed any ebooks of the same.

Rogan mentions the words ("see Vol. 2) in regards to Clarence's story that he was hoping to write about.

Did he decide not to go through with writing about Clarence's story (seeing that most of it is available at the Adios Louge website)???

Not at all. I recall Rosemarie saying on here that he interviewed her and Roland and, indeed, Michelle. So there's no reason to suggest that he's not covering Clarence in Volume 2. I'd say it's still to come!
