Dug out what appears to be late concert stuff. The site indicated it was from 1969 (the boot was titled "Lee Jeans Living rock Concert 1969"---don't think so) but someone corrected the listing and said it was from Feb 1973 with John Guerin on drums. I could only find two possible Byrds performances during 1973, one of them in Feb at the Capitol Theater in NJ (I was there) and one unconfirmed in Texas. Can anyone confirm the actual history/place/date of this boot? What's interesting is that I had never heard the later Byrds play "It Won't Be Wrong" and I can hear Clarence in the background. Here's the link:

I just downloaded and listening to it... It definitely sounds like a really late era concert. McGuinn with his swirly phaser and the drummer doesn't sound like Gene. Plus McGuinn mentions that they taught the Doobie Bros this song (before they play Jesus Is Alright) so that should help date the concert..

I'll add to this...

This is a rare find. never heard it before and it must have been one of the very last Byrds concerts. Clarence and Roger both sound great

There's another interesting track in that collection, the Track 9 version of "Jesus is just alright." It's sort of a slowed down version. I don't think Clarence is on it, although there may be a second guitar. It's pretty much all Roger's ric 12. I think I hear York singing the high harmony.

Brian - Is there a way to add this to the audio page or is it too big? I can't get it downloaded for some reason....

The "Lee Jeans Living Rock" segment has been circulating for decades.

It's from the "Midnight Special" TV show, recorded in January 1973 and first broadcast on February 3, 1973.

Lineup is McGuinn, White, Battin and Guerin.

Raoul--Are the "no lead guitar" version of "Jesus is just alright" and the the version of "It Won't Be Wrong" with Clarence both from that Guerin era tape?

The first 8 songs are from the same Midnight Special concert.
