Hey Murr, I've watched the videos of your band on youtube, great group btw. How come you aren't using your Clarence at all? What's the deal with blonde tele you are using?

..

Sweet! Looks similar to one of mine. Is that a Barden tailpiece? I need to replace those brass saddles with some threaded rod or something. My b string sliced through one of those brass saddles pretty far.

Like Junior Brown, I got tired of hauling my steel to the gigs so I added steel neck. Now, I have 75 pounds less to haul to each gig. Every gig, I have to move hundreds of pounds, four times. Move it to load car, move it to unload car at gig, move it to car after gig, then move it from the car after the gig. Now I get paid the same money for 1/3 the labor. Not bad eh?

I suppose I have the first "Stringbenderguitsteel" but I know I don't. Seen many various contraptions at my friend's website here. http://www.uniqueguitar.blogspot.com/2013/08/homemade-steel-slide-guitar.html

I used it out once as is. Later, I angled the neck back, so I don't have to reach over guitar neck to play steel. I can see the angles too now. Before, I was sometimes looking up from under strings to see angles.

Now that neck is angled, it works so much easier reaching under guitar neck for slide neck. I'll shoot a picture later to show the better angle. Only mod to the tele was using 2 longer pick-guard screws through that piece of moulding.

Was hired for steel and guitar. Dude said I could just bring a lap steel but I don't have one. I did have a P-90, some threaded rod, and some wood, so I whipped one up night before gig. Following week, I bolted it to the Tele, then tried it next day. Two days later, I changed the angle of neck after trying it out.

bad blend mix on tape but not live. My amp wasn't miked, others were.

This is my other bender, Higgins peg bender with Kahler tremolo bridge.

another bad blend mix, my amp wasn't miked again with that band either.

Too cool raybob! Great playing.
I see a pedal steel in front of you in the last vid... you can play that too?
Thanks for posting these!

I angled the neck so I can reach under guitar neck to play steel. In the process, I shifted the steel neck upwards drilling extra hole to mount to bracket so I can play this sitting down. Before, it wouldn't sit on my leg with the steel neck overhanging the lower bout.
