My husband ordered a Clarence White B-Bender from Fender's Custom Shop in 1994. Unfortunately he passed away before he got to play it. Only a couple of our friends have played it a few times since and most of the time I've had it in my possesion so it's practically like new. I believe Fender made 200 of these and the one I have is Serial #8 (CW008).

I'm considering selling it and would like some advice on its value as well as suggestions where to advertise it in order to get the best price possible and not be taken by scams.

Might any of you have any suggestions?
Thank you!

Hi Jan,

Its hard to say what it's worth, and to get the right amount you'd have to get connected with people in the business of dealing collectable guitars.

Guitars such as the one you have rarely come up for sale and especially in the condition that you say yours is. If you still have all the original documentation t will be even better. Especially the the Certificate of Authenticity that came from Fender etc...

You could try contacting Gruhn's guitars for appraisal possible purchase..

http://www.gruhn.com

or maybe

http://www.normansrareguitars.com
http://www.larkstreetmusic.com
http://www.elderly.com

Make sure you take quality pictures of the whole guitar, case and whatever else came with it... And don't let anyone try to low-ball you on it...

My own personal opinion is that it could be worth $4000-$5000 but who knows? To the right person and the right condition maybe more?? Try and get professional estimates... Ebay won't be much help to get a price estimate since the CW model so rarely comes up...

You can also make a post over at the TDPRI www.tdpri.com. Its a telecaster forum. You may or may not get any good appraisal info over there but you could possibly find a buyer once you get the appraisal you need

Hi Brian,
Those suggestions are also a big help and I'll check out the websites you mentioned. I'm hoping to take pictures this weekend and although I'm not the best photographer, I'm sure I can come up with something decent.

I no longer have the Certificate of Authencity that came with it so not sure what may have happened to it but it really is in mint condition and with Serial Number CW0008 out of 200, that should help bring up the value, too.

Thank you so much for your comments! I greatly appreciate it.
Jan
