A friend of mine just bought a Ric 360/12 and was wondering what amps are recommended for it to acomodate the Ric O Sound feature.

I checked around previous threads and didn't see anything.

The ric-o-sound thing is essentially a stereo splitter...takes the signal and sends it off to two amps or channels or whatever....you get exactly the same thing with a stereo to mono x2 "Y" cord...

Thats all it does.

Thanks for the info Don.

From what research I've done on the net, it looks like any clean amp with
a little compression and a tad of reverb works pretty well.

I was curious about the Ric-O-Sound feature and though a stereo amp was required to use it.

Thanks Very Happy

I had Ric-O-Sound wiring on my old RIC and experimented with it and the Y splitter but didn't find it particularly useful.

The amp I use the most with my RIC 360-12 is a Mesa Boogie Studio .22+ with an Altec Lansing 417-8H speaker. Use a strong (non-microphonic) tube in V2. I add a compressor and it sounds great. I like my SF Fenders and Rivera S120-210 as well, but the Boogie is a great grab and go amp for most anything. I've even used it for our fiddler's ZETA five string violin.

I'm not sure if anyones acutually uses the stereo outputs, but for good 'ole Ric sound ...Twin Reverb or Dual Showman does the trick.
